Summary: I was honestly very disappointed with my stay at SpringHill Suites by Marriott. The hotel itself was clean, but the customer service and overall experience were extremely poor. I paid approximately $187 online, plus about $36 in taxes and fees which reached $222.07. When I arrived at the hotel, I was charged an additional $20 without a clear explanation of what the charge was for. This was frustrating because I had already paid the taxes and fees shown when I booked online. Where was that anonymous extra $20 fee going? Or just to scam their customers. The biggest issue was that we were never given room keys. We were told that the hotel’s system was down, so we had to stay in the room without having an actual key until the following day and it was slid under our door... I understand that technical issues can happen, but there was very little communication or effort to make the situation feel like it was being handled professionally. It basically felt like we were just handed a room and told to figure things out. The television in the room also did not work. We went downstairs and informed the front desk, and we were told that someone would be sent up to take care of it. No one ever came. We spent the entire stay without a working TV. Overall, almost nothing about the stay felt properly handled. I understand that system issues and technical problems can happen, but what made the experience worse was the lack of communication, follow-through, and customer service. The room
