A warm welcome awaits every guest, Whitby itself has lots of scenic walks nearby. The property is located on a street named after William Scoresby who is said to have invented the ’crow’s nest’, the look out at the top of the ship. The idea of this was rumoured to have been created by the Viking ships which in the past had invaded Whitby. It is still a proud seafaring town, you can find out more at the museums or even first hand up at the abbey ruins. Walk through the whale bone archway on the West Cliff or visit the shipwreck on Saltwick bay and look up into the cliffs to spot the smuggler’s tunnels.
